SATs results and performance
School and College Performance Tables are produced by the Department for Education (DfE) and published online. They provide information about pupil attainment and progress at the end of Key Stage 2 and enable comparisons with other schools locally and nationally. They also include information about areas such as school finances and staffing.
Alongside published performance information, we carefully track the progress and attainment of every pupil throughout their time at Rowde. Regular assessment enables teachers and leaders to identify strengths, respond to gaps in learning and ensure that children receive the support and challenge they need to flourish.
As a small school, our published data should always be considered in the context of individual cohorts. With relatively small numbers of pupils in each year group, the performance of one child can represent a significant percentage of the overall results. Cohorts also vary from year to year, including in the proportion of pupils with additional or special educational needs.
For this reason, we look closely at the progress and achievement of individual children as well as headline percentages. Our focus is on ensuring that every child makes strong progress from their individual starting points, is appropriately challenged and is supported to achieve their potential.
