School Council

We believe at Rowde in the power and importance of democracy and, in more usual times, have a full School Council to represent Pupil Voice across the school. Each class/Year Group has two representatives – chosen by their peers – who contribute to this, and work with the Senior Pupils from Year 6.

Senior Pupils are chosen through a letter of application and interview process at the end of Year 5. Positions on the Senior Team include:

  • Head Girl
  • Head Boy
  • Deputy Head Girl
  • Deputy Head Boy
  • Sport Captains
  • Senior Pupils (up to five)

During Covid-19 measures, the School Council meets only on a class-by-class basis and in Virtual Meetings, ensuring that mixing ‘across Bubbles’ does not take place. These meetings take place each term and are chaired by the Head Teacher, Head Boy and Head Girl.
